Tristian Bounds, CEO
Tristian is driven by a pretty simple belief: water isn’t waste. It’s a resource that restores and strengthens our communities, our landscapes, and even our economies. His vision is to rethink how we design water systems—moving away from the old, one-size-fits-all, centralized models and instead creating solutions that are distributed, resilient, and regenerative. Tristian sees a future where wastewater regenerates communities and where infrastructure makes people and places healthier. Tristian is an accomplished Civil Engineer with twenty-six years of experience developing wastewater treatment processes and state-of-the-art treatment facilities. He holds Professional Engineering Licenses in 10 states and is an active volunteer in the Water Environment Federation. Tristian earned a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering at Boise State University.
Terry Bounds, CTO
Terry applies an incredible breadth and depth of hands-on wastewater engineering experience on behalf of communities, developers, and fellow engineers. In 1981, he co-founded Orenco Systems, where he served in successive roles as executive vice president, president, CTO, and CEO. He was also one of the company’s lead researchers in the field. For fourteen years, Terry served as a special studies engineer for the Douglas County, Oregon Public Works Department, conducting a wide variety of civil, environmental, and structural engineering projects. His most notable project was the pioneering 2300-unit Effluent Sewer (STEP) system at Glide, Oregon. In parallel, for ten years, Terry taught engineering classes at Umpqua Community College. Terry presently serves on the Onside Technical Review Committee of the US EPA. Terry earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University and is a licensed civil, environmental, structural, and manufacturing engineer.
Shane Hunt, President
Shane is driven by the belief that better infrastructure decisions require better intelligence, objectivity, and speed. As President, Shane leads the commercialization, growth strategy, and market adoption of the company’s wastewater decision-intelligence platform—bridging advanced engineering, software, and real-world development economics. He is focused on removing friction, bias, and unnecessary cost from how wastewater collection systems are evaluated and selected.
Shane brings more than two decades of executive leadership across Software, GIS, AI, infrastructure, and professional services, with deep experience scaling market-driven platforms and aligning product innovation with customer value. His background includes senior leadership roles with global software firms, management consulting at Boston Consulting Group Digital Ventures, and founding and scaling technology-enabled companies. Shane is passionate about helping communities and developers make faster and financially sound wastewater decisions.
Greg Bernhardt, Development Lead
Greg is passionate about improving people’s lives with well-designed software. He views the ARX Platform as an incredible opportunity to save people from arduous, tedious tasks, but also as a route to address the needless delays and inflated costs that most communities in the U.S. face as they strive to environmentally and economically improve how they manage wastewater.
Greg has held pretty much every position in software companies over the last 30 years —from starting a software company when he was 16 years old on an Apple IIe, to founding multiple companies and corporate stints, most recently as founder of Fancy Nerd Design Studio, and his work as a fractional Chief Technology Officer for multiple software companies. Greg holds two US patents for his work. More importantly, he tells everyone that his two daughters are amazing and that he skis as much as possible! Greg earned his B.Sc. degree in Computer Science at Purdue University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa.
